The ex-post evaluation (ex-post) is made by the European Commission for each objective in close cooperation with the Member State and the managing authorities. It examines the extent usage of resources, effectiveness and efficiency of the Funds’ programming and socio-economic impacts.

It also identifies the factors that contributed to the success or failure of the implementation of operational programmes and identify good practices.

The ex post evaluation is carried out by independent evaluators and must be completed no later than three years after the end of the programming period (until December 31, 2015).
